I hate graphite! It takes forever to apply it. And the stuff is so light, no matter which pencil I use. Good thing that I don’t need more pencil drawings
(My camera is a disaster so a lot of subtle things got lost)

Happy Birthday Tony!
(I know this isn’t fancy or anything, I’m buried in work. But the intention is what counts, right?)
Aww, the story is short but sad. These are lovely colored pencil (?) drawings. :)
Well, there is more of the story, I just hadn’t had time to do the rest. But the whole thing is pretty sad.
Thank you very much! And I did use colored pencils, it was fun :D
So I had to go on a rehearsal for quadrille today but arrived too early so I figured to doodle our cathedral. Spent some 30 minutes on this, didn’t measure proportions or anything, just eyeballed the thing.
And gosh, my scanner really does hate pencil!
Just a lil’ something I was messing around with for half an hour yesterday, inspired by the last night’s dream. Not finished yet but I doubt it will ever go beyond this.
And the stuff that’s written in the abomination that my handwriting is, and even bigger abomination that Croatian language is, says something like this:
There was a young sailor who sailed across many seas.
He had many treasures…
…And many women.
But he wasn’t happy…
He hadn’t had a home…
…Nor family.
Wow! This must have taken forever. Great job with the shading and the values.
Not really, actually I spent far more time procrastination than actually working on it (because I just hate doing portraits). I guess the actual drawing took only 2 days or so.
And thank you very much!
So it’s the middle of the night and my friend came online. She cheered me up and took my mind off some things and this happened.
Old stuff that I’ll put into Art Academy portfolio to fill up the space since they also need stuff done from imagination.
The first drawing was done in January of 2011 for a friend, the second one in June of 2011, following one in Autumn of 2011 for another friend and the last one was a semi-autoportrait in tempera done in April of 2012.
With portraits finally done, now it’s time for nudes :D
Funny fact: my dad went ballistic after realizing that the guy on the photo I’m drawing from doesn’t have underwear. Like what did you expect? A gnome? There’s a reason why this stuff is called nudes.
Done with this… FINALLY!
And since I took photos of the thing as I worked on it, I figured to share them :D
Sometimes I really wonder what I actually do to get something like the thing on the right from the thing on the left…
I hope I’ll finish this tonight so I can be lazy tomorrow and on Friday
How old is this assassin?
That’s… very relative xD In my head he looks early-30-ish, but he’s an elf :D If I think more about the story from which the idea came from, he’d be actually between 60 and 80.
Hmm, my mind is constantly molested by a concept for an illustration. But I doubt that I’ll have any time to do do something elaborate for at least a month.
Figured that I might as well share my idea (someone might do something neat with it) - An assasin is about to kill a wealthy young man while he is asleep but hesitates; the man reminds him of his own son who he lost years ago.
But charcoal is your friend :) You are being harsh on yourself. The portrait turned out nicely.
Wow! Great hatching. Nice work.
Thank you very much!
Well, I wouldn’t agree that charcoal is my friend… It’s a pain to make it behave and do things I want it to do xD
Plus, me hating stuff that I do nowadays, especially portfolio pieces, is normal. I actually hate 50 % of my portfolio right now, mostly because the stuff is a formality that must be done regardless of how much interest I have or it.
Phew, got this ugly sucker done! Now I’ve just one portrait left to do and can move onto figures. I’m really sick of portraits…
Again used an abomination called charcoal.
